Russell & Russell Solicitors would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all those that knew and loved Gay Wharton, who sadly lost her life in a tragic accident over the weekend. As an integral member of the Russell & Russell team, based in our Newport Street Office, we know we speak for all of her co-workers when we say how very much she will be missed by all of us. She truly was one of life’s givers and brought so much light and positivity to anyone who knew her. Gay was a remarkable and inspirational woman who gave so much to her community. She was the Mayoress of Bolton in 2014 alongside then Mayor, Councillor Martin Donaghy, and was commended for her fundraising efforts as a proud supporter and patron of domestic abuse charity, Fortalice Bolton. A phenomenal baker, Gay was always first in line to assist with providing the most amazing cakes for any of our Macmillan Coffee mornings and her ever kind and generous nature meant she was always the first to support any other charitable fundraisers the firm or other staff members were holding. She was a wonderful staff member, friend, and colleague, and will be truly missed.
Judith Bromley, partner at Russell & Russell said “We are all so terribly saddened by this tragic news, I for one know all our lives were richer for knowing her, she will be missed so much by all of us”
