Good Divorce Week 2021

The Family Law team at Russell and Russell are pleased to support Resolution in their “Good Divorce Week” 2021 (29 Nov - 3 Dec 2021) where they will be kickstarting a national conversation about how parents can embrace a child-focused approach to separation.

Resolution was founded in 1982 by a group of family lawyers who believed that a non-confrontational approach to family law issues would produce better outcomes for separating families and their children. The family law team at Russell & Russell have been longstanding members of Resolution and we look forward to supporting them in this campaign.

The Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign that aims to promote practical and constructive ways for couples to separate and has been a key driving force behind changes to UK divorce laws, including the no-fault divorce bill which is now due to come into force in April 2022.

Resolution’s Code of Practice focuses on a constructive approach to family issues, tackling the needs of the whole family, but especially resolving cases in the best interests of children caught up in a dispute. It is well recognised that family relationships have been under increasing pressure since the start of the pandemic, and that children of parents who are separating, can find the process especially difficult.

As part of this year’s campaign, Resolution have launched the Parenting through Separation Guide which is a free resource containing information, advice and support to help parents in their journey through separation and beyond.

We realise how distressing a separation or divorce can be, our team are on hand to provide sensitive, practical and confidential advice regarding any issues you may be facing.
