Russell & Russell's Chester branch has named homeless charity, CATH its official charity of choice.
The Whitefriars based legal practice chose the CATH after staff were asked to nominate a local good cause they would like to collectively fund raise for.
An established city centre charity, CATH has been offering support to homeless people in Chester since 1972. All money raised by Russell & Russell Chester will help provide the much needed services CATH provides from its five locations across the city centre.
Speaking of the move, Karen Woods, partner in Russell & Russell’s conveyancing department, said: “As a firm we’ve been raising money for CATH, along with a number of other charities, for years, but it’s been on a more ad hoc basis.
“The staff at Russell & Russell are really good when it comes to supporting good causes, but we decided to concentrate our efforts in a more focussed way. The process of choosing CATH was very democratic, as these things should be, and we’re really looking forward to raising funds to help CATH provide the support the for the very real problems people face when finding themselves homeless.”
Robert Bisset, CEO of CATH, said: “Rough sleeping is at unprecedented levels in the city and we are most grateful to Russell & Russell for their support at such a critical time. However, it is no surprise, as the law firm has a real track record in reaching out to those in need, displaying as always a huge social conscience.”
